Baris, I predict in the next generation, Marehan will have some leverage and friendly ears in moments like this. With time and numbers comes economic security and political influence. It will not be surprising to see US foreign policy towards Somalia influenced by Somali-Americans who can exact favors for votes. That's how the Jews do it for Israel, the Cubans in Florida for Cuba, Armenians in LA for Armenia/Turkey, etc.
