Cumar, in that same link, under Africa, what else is listed a peninsula?
You guys are too much wallahi; I didn't even think I needed to do this because this is so basic.
Even by normal cartographic observation, you can see it is a peninsula. It's odd shape makes difficult the fact it really only borders land on ONE front, the West, even if the far southwest and northwest make it seem different diverse directions.

Somalia with the Ogaden and Djibouti is together called the Somali peninsula because of the historical cannotation settled by Somalis but really they are merely an extention of Somalia's western borders, they don't add different directions. Somalia really on the south does not border land (the Lower Jubba is not a directional south, it is a directional west), nor does it border on the east, nor does it border on the north.
Therefore, by scientific and geographical agreement, it is a peninsula.
