The Soomalis are suffering from stockholm syndrome. They seem to trust the Ethiopians more than any other foreign nation. The Mareexan(atleast those in the diaspora) seem to prefer the ethiopians over the Kenyans, even though economically the Gedo region is intrically tied to mandheera and other towns over the border. I have never really understood this. The somalis also have heavily infested in Kenya because of the openess and freedom they have, even OGs born and bred in Ethiopia could not trust their wealth in Jigjiga or other nice towns because of the political oppression and police status. Yet Ethiopia going in and out as they wish, collecting illegaal road fees in Kalabeyr region of Hiiraan, and mining near Cabudwaaq doesn't seem to raise much attention.
Instead of being weary of the Ethiopians for their history, for some strange reasons Somalis seem to fret the docile Kenyans who, in all likelihood are far less dangerous and less likely to dominate a future Somali state in any meaningful sense. The History of Ethiopia's meddling in Somalia's affairs in the last 20 years alone is enough for any sane individual to come to a a sound conclusion.
