The filthy French gaalo will have initial success, however the mujahideen will simply melt away and strike at times and places of their choosing.
The French will build garrisons and remain there indefinitely.

The real French objective is to secure Mali`s natural resources, including gold, oil etc.
Sahan...stop with your Francophile nonsense.....its truly a disgusting spectacle to witness.

melt away and strike at times and places of their choosing.
this requires a population to support you, to hide you, provide intelligence and food and shelter.
If the people dont support you, you cannot run and hide, you will be crushed.

look at the taliban, nobody denies that taliban = pushtoon, they have practically the whole pushtoon nation behind them, across the borders inside the pakistan millitary and intelligence ,
they have secret supporters in nearly every single afghan army unit, even the ones getting training by Nato, even the ones fighting taliban are taliban or potential taliban.

Mali is different, ansar ed deen have next to zero support, meaning they will either be crushed or run like hell into safer zones..
me thinks they will head to niger, then northern nigeria.

What really surprises me about you folks, is that you claim to know from your armchairs in the west, the political views of Mali`s` 16 million people.
The French have been planning to establish bases in the Sahara for years, Gaddafi (aun) was blocking them.

With Libya no longer a regional power, the rapacious French dogs are wasting notime in implementing their plan, to first dominate then exploit the region.
Just like all recent western invasions, the pretext is.... surprise surprise...fighting terrorism and spreading democracy.

This is the problem you have when debating with folk, who only know what they are spoon fed by the western media.
Libya was an African powerhouse

After the Iraqi war of aggression by the Bush administration broke out, Gaddafi cut a deal with the West, relinquishing his weapons programs, which included nuclear weapons, for re-inclusion in the global economic system. Still Gaddafi sought to develop African unity and to this end relieved Africa of the burden of paying for satellite usage $500 million annually to Europe.

At his encouragement Africa bought its own satellites and now the continent communicates without relying on Europe. Gaddafi also proposed a single African currency backed by gold which would have sounded the death-knell for the CFA and removed much of France’s influence and power in Africa.

An African Monetary Fund was also in the works, which would have further set Africa on the road to true economic and political independence. Then there was the Libyan leader’s mooting of a million-man African army. This was the red line where the West decided to checkmate Libya.

Events surrounding the so-called “Arab Spring” seemed tailor-made for Western plans. Overnight, armed groups showed up in Benghazi and an organized pattern emerged for the overthrow of Gaddafi. First there was the “concern” for civilian life, always a good tear-jerker.., then the French and British stepped in, forcing a UN Security Council vote.

lol gurey, dervish is right the libyans were a regional, economic power that had sway in both AMISOM and Arab league. Libyan govt provided Tuaregs with shelter, food, jobs and many other incentives and once gaddafi was killed the tuareg simply shifted their power towards northern mali. With the proliferation of hundreds of thousands of weapons, Libya paved the way for Ansar-Dine and affiliatted mujahideen. this is a new front of "the war on terror" and it will always end in the aggressor's defeat.

France stands no chance against battle hardened tuaregs and their Muslim brothers from libya, algeria (remember the Salafi uprising in Algeria?) who aide them.

It think its genetic with these folk...they define their very being by what the gaalo wrote for them.
How could expect such a people to comprehend the glory of jihad and anti imperialism?
They want to re-institute it in Somalia for goodness sake. :pacspit:
