It's great to see the town making a comeback after the massacre caused by the Afweyne regime in 1991.

Yes the majority is Hawadle by a large margin. There are 4 districts in the city. Three on the East bank and 1 on the West bank of the river. 3 of the districts are almost exclusively Hawadle and 1 districts is predominantely Gugundhabe. But you will find lots of clans well represented in the city in every corner.

No.there is no east bank and west bank. This info is very wrong and I think you get it from the media. The river as they say in arabic yatalawa fihaa/aa ku dhex laa laab mooyaa. It goes inside evry district so the major old 3 hawadle districts the river goes through them. Baladweyne was 4 districts before the civil war Now its 6 with two new districts like nuur xawaad wich links baladweyne to janta kundisho and the highway.

 Xawadle majority by a large margin  The Gaaljeceel are more numerous and when you add the Badicaade and HG, the Xawadle are just a sizeable minority.
