My mom is dhulbahante, precisely Caligeri, and her side of the family are up close and personal with Isaaq considering meeshey dhegaan. I don't want to tell my mom's whole life story but, her first marriage was to an Isaaq man who she met in xamar back in the day. She lived with him and his family in hargeisa for a while and my older brother was born. They later divorced and she moved back to xamar where she married my dad, a reer baraawe man, moved to mombasa, and i was born there. Still in contact with my brothers family who still live in hargeisa and my brothers dad and paternal grandmother (my grandmother too) love me just as much as him and my dad loves my brother just as much as me.
Don't be so quick to judge a book by its cover. Many other somalis have complex qabiil lineages so it baffles me when people fight over qabiil.

I just had to google Baraawe ...another exotic lot from the south.
the most interesting info i found is that it is over 1500 km away by road.
And you have some native from this town laying claim to hargeisa.
I ask ....how will he enforce this claim? Amisom?

s/l is going to go for a federated north south union.
The south will say no because they`re control freaks.
I would like to suggest the iidoor wise up and agree that secessionism is over.
If they do that they will certainly carry all the non iidoor with them.
That way the union can be renegotiated with the south from a strong position.

I am all for a Issaq PM preferably Cidagaale as long as the Issaq are fully committed to containing the Jebertis. Its is most unfortunate that the Northern Jebertis don't see that the ISsaq want to treat them as fellow citizens, brothers and sisters but instead the Northern Jeberts plot to fight the Issaq. The amount of development under SL's rule in places like Las Canood never occurred when PL ran that city.
So Northern Jebertis, the day that Issaq give up on Somaliland is the day when you will receive the Karbash that the Issaq refused to give you in 1991. It was a serious mistake because if they did land that karbash, you would have become loyal citizens of Somaliland just like the Gadabursi who were not spared for being Faqash. Damn Silaanyo !
