sahal do you know what vehicles?
if it is from egypt/sudan and djibouti we can guess quite accuratley waht they will be, but who knows what qatar is delivering.
they have hundreds of armoured vehicles, artillary pieaces and tonnes of small arms that they keep in warehouses just like the saudis.
they are to be used by pakistani mercenaries and US/nato troops in case of war with iran.

this is not an independent country, the government is under tight control from its foriegn sponsers this is why they can only steal small amounts of money,
anything that is too obvious will get them to step in..

Trust me.....Somali`s know how to steal.

The issue is there is no military structure. Its basically a moryaan collective.
The Somali army has been totally ineffective in fighting Al Shabaab.
Its not all about equipment, but training and discipline.

what he does mean "this is not an independent country"? Lol Do you think we have the same problem? And if you mean the likes of mahiga they dont exist anymore.
We got 50 new unused latest technology army vechicles from our djboutian uncle the president mudane omar geele hafidahullah.
25 infantary carrier and 25 compate open-oofed armoured vechicles.
As for egypt most are tanks, we are not getting from qatar they would fund it and we will get from the market weapons but yeah in that way its from amir hamid

by not independent i mean you are still a glorified UN/AU trusteeship.
you will move more towards independence when you build your army and AU leave.
hamid kharzais afghanistan is not independent either even though it is more developed as a government and controls kabul and at least 2 ore cities with his own troops.

25 open top? that doesnt sound good?
probaby a btr variant, not better than a technical

i meant 25 compate open-roofed armoured vichicles with heavy fire and 25 infantary carrier, each can carry 250-300.

wrong
you cant use the term not independent for somalia, somalia is a dependent
Learn the difference
Somalia is a member of the UNITED NATIONS.
You seem that your clueless of somalia, its not a UN trusteeship and there is no more of the UNPOS and mahiga it was closed
it has a recognized government for example somalia said no to a navy kenyan amisom

Sahal,

This is garbage. Old, crappy vehicles that won't make a major difference. Now if the government were to receive 5 Hind Helicopter gunships and 25 Russian/Ukranian mercenary pilots then they would destroy Al Shabab and any potential rebel groups. Getting old rusting vehicles is nothing.

Gurey,

Its much ado about squat. This government is disappointing. If they are going to get arms they need to get serious stuff: Hind Helicopters, Katuysha Rockets, tanks, APCs, OSA style gunboats (old but able to do the job), and SAM 6 missile battery carriers. These are older equipment but more than enough to pacify the govt's enemies and maintain a credible fighting posture to resist AMISOM if needed.

ive seen the pics sahal, you will always need trucks so its a good idea,
and the apc's look like bushmaster/saracens good choice, if they are like the south african vehicles that they were inspired by they should be mine proof and IED proof.
if they Americans used them in iraq in 2003 they would not have lost all those men, if you look at footage from the news in afghanistan, all the humvees have been replaced
by similiar vehicles.

fighting Alshabab you dont need tanks, you need the right APC/ infantry fighting vehicle with a good heavy machine gun, guns rather.
and loots of infantry, you should supplement them with technicals and mortars, probably katyushas wont hurt either.

Abdi as i said before no guerilla fighter in the bush is afraid of F-16's, they are afraid of drones and helicopter gunships will make them piss their pants and probably die of a fear.
20 to 30 hinds with mercenary pilots and will make even Somaliland's forces change thier mood from utter contempt for all other forces in somalia, to considering surrendering
or rverting completly to guerilla warfare.

We have an enough army but they only need two things.
Dismissing all of its bad commanders to improve them, create a coherent structure and the other thing is getting equipped.
Since 2009 there was a EU military training program, 2000 per year and now we have 6000 of them trained under 150 EU generals in uganda.
Now they consist six brigards with only two are presently deployed.
each brigard comprises 6 battalions and in total 18 000 to 36, 000 local trained troops.
Like the president said just bc they have no equipments.
The police is better equiped , japan and UNPOS have facilitated for them they are 5388 officers in 10 police stations.

AW

Tanks are more expensive than helicopters and in this stage we need a land-based mechanized and infantary army. In the future we need vew helicopters to transfer the troops but they atleast cost $20 million each while the tanks cost 50 million each.
Gurey
i agree with you.

The bantu are going in the middle of 2013
