Hmm Why didn't the main elders announce this. :?
This is not a unanimous decision made by all the elders, a political move more-so.

Prof Ghandi would be more acceptable to the international community.

It's clear to everyone that the seat will go to the clan mentioned here. I think the Gedo faction outright lost the battle when their internal rift became obvious to everyone. The question now is, will they be able to let another clan lead in the first presidency while remaining part of Jubbaland or will it cause Gedo to become its own region for the next two years until everything is sorted out in their favour?

We remain to see. Personally I would like to see Prof. Gandhi or Mr Aw Libaax to win the seat, the former has shown great capability in leading since he has been part of this project from the beginning, and the beginning is before Embaghati while the latter has demonstrated that the existence of Jubbaland is more important than whoever leads it.

Both are team players and should work together in the first admin I believe.

:comeon:

Right now what's going on in Kismayo was known as client-patron relationship where:

One of the more peculiar aspects of the Roman society was the relationship between a client (clientela) and his patron (patronus). This was a complex system of interdependency by which a wealthy patron gave to his less fortunate clients one or more of the following:

the patron (Kenya) provides

legal counsel, legal aid
their sportula (a regular monetary handout, "the dole")
free meals in their homes
other gifts and/or resources (land, livestock, right to grow crops on their land)

and the client reciprocated by providing to the patron:

respect
political support
an escort if their patrons wished to walk around the city or go on a journey.(really applies to Ras Kibaki)
financial support
other services(may include being used as a footrest for Major Chirchir but only the lucky ones)

The way you masquerade as a nationalist when everybody and his dog can see your nothing more than a petty tribalist, is extremely nauseating.
