Metamorphisis, Aw-Libaax was considered Gudoomiye Ahlul Sunnah wal Jama. It was a paramilitary ogranization like Ras Kambooni formed to combat Alshabab. Other than that, he didn't have any other nor does he have any other mustaqbal. He is not a mayor, a governor, etc. As for Gedo, it is moving away from a military controlled administrated gobol, to one that is having a civilian government. All the major cities have mayors, and there is a Governor for the whole gobol. No mayor, nor any governor has recognized Ahmed Madoobe, nor have the people come out in support for him. The opposite is actually happening, people are starting to come out for Barre Hiraale as opposed to Ahmed Madoobe. Ras Kambooni has no leg to stand, and Aw-Libaax will not deliver it for him.

Not to mention that ASWJ in Gedo has basically disintegrated into different militias that are separate from one another. So his position within ASWJ is no more, though I believe it was always a political position. He did enjoy the support of the Marexaan shacab, but politics change and the shacab have different interests than the one awlibaax is pursuing. Unfortunately he has become to involved with this Kenyan project, and has become beholden to it for better or worse. I don't doubt his sincerity and wish for the betterment of his people, but circumstances have changed.
