Confirmed: Dahir Aweys to retire in Doha, Qatar

Postby Titanium » Thu Jun 27, 2013 2:30 am

There is word from the capital that Ximan iyo Xeeb administration will hand over Dahir Aweys to the authorities in Muqdisho who will then be sent to Doha to spend the rest of his days. This will happen today. He will be in house arrest in a secret location in Muqdisho for some time before starting his new life in Qatar.

Madoobe himself was part of Al Shabab and Hizbul Islam just like Dahir Aweys. And he's a warlord now in Kismayo and his militia's flying bullets have killed many civilians this month and just yesterday.

The man isn't a saint. Innocent people have died due to his lust for power.

Hargaysaay, he deserves a firing squad. But it's hard to only give him punishment when everyone else is walking free. Not one war criminal has faced justice for their involvement in the civil war. But he shouldn't be sent to the Middle East. That's not fair. But it's obvious the gov't just wants him out of the way.
