Khalid, you are missing the point. By having this very important institution based in Hargeisa, it would mean that reer Waqooyis are part of Somalia. This was probably done to placate reer Waqooyi people after 20+ yrs of no ictiraaf. Think of it as a way for reer waqooyi to save face and slowly integrate into the rest of Somalia.

Again, i say good work.

This was just done because the 2 sides can jointly manage the airspace there is no winning losing , Somalia is still considered a very hostile country , Koonfurians are still looked in a very suspicious and considered untrustworthy people. We know all your plans , but we know that these talks are a failure because there is no real mediating factor that's why after 3 days talking nothing tangible came out of the talks

or lets say,as the two camps engage in negotiations which will require both of them to make compromises, lets just say Mogadisho took the initiative and
let this one go for the sake of the talks which is encouraging by the way, somalis are finally learning the art of diplomacy

It doesn't say somaliland to control its airspace but rather sharing somaliland to control with in both sides. Doesn't this mean FSG
Controlling with the somaliland airpace?

1. Agreed to the return of the air traffic management from the UN and decided to establish a joint control body that is based in Hargeisa to lead the air traffic control of both sides. It is also agreed that this body will propose a mechanism for equitable revenue-sharing

Mogadishu cannot compromise on anything big just small trade economic cooperation the airspace was just a compromise on both sides, but on the fundamental issues there is no agreement both countries cannot agree on that. The talks are going a dead end in October. Somaliland cannot compromise on its statehood
Somalia cannot violate its constitution and it cannot support Somaliland independence. They can agree on a referendum on Somaliland independence and a close regional integration and sign some fine cooperation deals. But that it self Mogadishu cannot risk to have that means recognition in few years. That deal only be reached if the Europeans come up with such a framework. But Mogadishu and Hargeisa will not agree on that. Why because Somaliland already believes its an independent state and it held a referendum in 2001 and it wants that referendum to be honored and respected, So it cant take a step back. Somalia cannot agree with that which means 90% of Somalilanders would vote for independence which would mean Somaliland is gone in a few years so they cannot come up with that idea. only the European mediating team can suggest such a offer. But for now the 2 sides cannot agree and have little room when it comes to negotiations

it means simply they are jointly managing the Somali airspace Somaliland airspace and Somalia airspace under one office in hargeisa SFG would bring in 3 guys Somaliland govt would bring in 3 guys and together they would share the revenues.

Yea, yea yea. What happened to Waqooyi people was almost 25yrs ago. 95% of Somalis had nothing to do it and didnt' participate.

I can understand your point though, because the late Siyaad government was carrying out this under our name, and you guy's just made it turn into all people from Koonfur were behind it. Siyaad bare was dictator (and darood), so go blame 'em. But remember, what followed in 1991 was much worse than what happened to Hargeisa, Burco or Berbera. Maybe it was Karma, maybe it was something else. Koonfur has suffered and the Waqooyis have also suffered.

So lets bury this stupid squabbling and pettiness and move forward as one people.

I don't think there is anyone ALIVE right now who would advocate for a war with Waqooyi people (regardless of the circumstances).

Hmm I dont know what to think of this, being an avid supporter of somaliland independence, I have to say I have rather mixed feelings about this. Is it a victory for mogadishu or for Hargeisa. Very hard to tell..too much bullshit in the air..with puntland being so economically and politically weak due to the transition thats in progress its not in our best interest for somaliland to be integrated into the federalism in this particular time. ..not that I would care but because of our transition, somaliland would have a great advantage...

NEVERTHELESS, congratulations I rather have an office in Hargeisa then in Mogadishu. ..afterall we always have our representatives everywhere..or did u guys think puntland can be sidelined just like tht..we dont let go of scholarships gained from uganda what makes u think
Puntland isnt part of the party..

Victory ? What victory innaalillaahi
The fact that slanders in their Hargeysa office will share the revenues with SFG officials like some kind of federal state is enough to tell us that qaldaan leaders gave up on ictiraaf. Qasaaro.
My condolences to the poor, misled qaldaan masses in SL. Your leaders have indeed lied to you for almost a quarter century....for few pennies.

What happened to keeping all the revenues to Mogadishu as Titanium and other looters put it here once, all the booto and bakh bakh  ? You
have been forced to swallow your pride and realize Ugaan-Disho will never be allowed to have the revenues of former Somali republic airspace to itself.
Xaraan badan ba la idinka soo matajiiyay. :D

We rejected your precious union so maybe u will not attack us now because you are toothless and have no army but maybe in a decade or 2 when you grow some strength u will attack us we are sure about that. Who cares if it happened 25 years ago or 50 years ago 500 years ago it happened.By the way that was not the sole reason. U stopped us from gaining independence in our coup in 1961 to , i dont care much about what you koonfurians did to each other you are the same when it comes to Somaliland. As a hawiye you might be of the lesser evil , but if the daarood takes control over you , u will fight for the cancerous union and attack us we know this, any way if you want us to be friends stay in your country and stay far away from us
