BAIDOA, Somalia (Garsoornews Online)—deadly fighting between pro-Somalia Federal government troops and Al Shabaab militants broke out on Friday night in Baidoa, the capital of Bay province, Garsoornews Online reports
A witness told Garsoornews.com that, the fatal combat flared up after fighters of Al Qaeda affiliated Al Shabaab have an ambush attacked on military positions near at Suuqa Xoolaha [livestock market] manned by government troops.
The casualties of the fighting is yet to be known as both warring sides used heavy and slight weapons during the skirmishes.
The situation is calm and things are returned back to normal as local residents started to resume their daily activities on Saturday morning.
It is not the first time that Al Shabaab fighters ambush attacks on military bases manned by allied forces. Baidoa, a town just sits situated 256 kilometers (159 miles) by road northwest of the Mogadishu, Somalia capital
