Tear town those tents that offer little protection for starters and send everybody off to meeshii ay ka so qaxeen. Why are you being so sensitive for? If it is politically motivated go and report it. More rapes happen in the south and that is a fact sadly. When we have boys growing up in such a toxic environment for decades, obviously they're not going to be normal. These boys then grow up to be men who rape women with such impunity.. just outside their tents in crowded IDP camps..imagine? I read a lot of articles about how a lot of Somalis suffer from mental disorders. Do not underestimate the damage wars can wrought.

People who lived in the middle of a war zone for more than 2 decades who sleep to the sounds of bombs going off and who have witnessed so much death and destruction are not going to be the same as people from peaceful cities like Burco, Jigjiga, NFD etc etc. Naturally you will have more mentally ill people , more murderers, rapists, paedophiles because of the complete breakdown of law & order, local institutions, family structures etc for example the overwhelming majority of the people in the IDP camps are women & children that will only breed more problems. Boys who are brought up in communities inhabited solely by females are not going to be normal or know how to treat women, that explains the rapes, women can't even go to the toilets without some man wanting to rape them. Look at Congo, the men after raping women for a lifetime have now turned on the men. I pray that same depravity doesn't find its way to Somalia.

Listen Isaaq are not the only inhabitants of what you call "north". There are thousands of refugees from Somalia in Somaliland and there is no systematic rape inflicted upon them from men in uniform or anyone else. They are treated with respect all over Somaliland they will all attest to this.

There are rape cases and other crimes just like all societies, however generally everyone feels safe.

All these UN and Human rights groups are just a political face for the hypocrites. I am always astounded by people who take them seriously. Have any one of you ever seen them report human rights abuses in Iraq, Afghanistan,Libya,Bosnia,Pakistan (drones) and countless other countries, all committed by u know who.
