puntland state officials throwing tamper tantrum at culusoow

Postby FarhanYare » Wed Sep 04, 2013 4:47 am

Mogadishu — Puntland Government in northern Somalia has on Monday declared that it will not recognize the outcome of a National Conference kicked off in Mogadishu today, Garowe Online reports.

Speaking at a press conference held in Puntland capital of Garowe, Puntland's Minister of Information Ahmed Sheikh Jama said "Puntland Government will not recognize the self proclaimed Mogadishu National Conference" whose agendas are based on the will of Federal Government of Somalia.

"It [Federal Government] doesn't adhere to the legitimate Provisional Federal Constitution (PFC) and even didn't perfect the use of federalism as a means of solving problems," added Jama.

On the other hand, Puntland Finance Minister Farah Ali Jama who also addressed the media during the press conference noted that Puntland withdrew cooperation from President Hassan's Government on 5 of August and following that decision, he says Government of Puntland did not have any representatives whatsoever at the ongoing conference.

On 25 August Somalia's Puntland Government released a press statement calling the conference as "One sided" one with exclusive agendas intended to marginalize the states.
