Darods specially Majeerteen were ahead of their time compared to other Somalis in that period which resulted in Darod/Majeerteen dominated Somalia for 30 years post independence.
In this time the Somali name was kept intact. What have we today. The Somali name is equivalent of ............................You say it. I can't.

Education Education Education - Power something taught in most Darod households.

Back then being suited for the role got you the job which was why Darod dominated. Not like today where all clans get a shot like pre-school football. A disgrace. Seriously. I wouldn't mind a dominiated Haiwye Gov if they are the best candidates just like how it works in the other 200 countries in the world today.
They were desert people Mjs at that time. so Xamar were the first city they ever saw. lets be realistic here

The goal of politics is to gain power. Look at kennedys, Bushs, Sharmarkes etc Even their grandchildren will fight for power.
That's why HAG doesn't bother me to be honest there 60 years to late. 60 years behind and without a state of any sort along with a organised political and economic class etc hence the reasons why Isaaq and Majeerteen created administrations without any assistance on the contrary to the billions used to create something (note the word something as in anything of any quality is accepted such as Hassan Shit) in Xamar with attacks happening just 3 days ago.

Read
War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy
The Republic - Plato
Crime and Punishment - F.M. Dostoevsky
The Prince - Niccolo M
The art of Seduction - Robert Greene  :sland: - To bring back these guys.
Books i won't be surprised found in Darod/Majeerteen households.

Are you forgetting the king of Somalia (Only king only sultanates) is Osman Mohammed and the whole government prayed at his casket ? You want pics ?
You know what there are things i will argue but arguing the status of Majeerteen (note the word status something you don't have) in the horn of Africa is just self evident and deserves no discussion.

Xamar is was the capital, Majeerteens want power. They come to Xamar. Simple.

Check mate. :whew:

For 30 years Non Darods have devised this fallacy of Majeerteens becoming stooges for the Italians. Proof. Sit down.
You like this pic. I have it in my library. Like i said Majeerteens were and are ahead of their times. Hence their fortunes where certain people where in the shadows just like today.
http://i40.tinypic.com/281blfb.jpg

Notice the 3 sultanates. Notice 1 clan holding 50% of Somali territory. Notice British Rule, Italian rule, French rule and Majeerteen rule. Xamar is the next step once again.

You're boring me.

Desert people! you were only used by the colony forces. in truth and you dare to come in here and claim wisedom
Initially, Yusuf Ali Kenadid's goal was to seize control of the neighboring Majeerteen Sultanate, which was then ruled by his cousin Boqor Osman Mahamud. However, he was unsuccessful in this endeavor, and was eventually forced into exile in Yemen. A decade later, in the 1870s, Kenadid returned from the Arabian Peninsula with a band of Hadhrami musketeers and a group of devoted lieutenants. With their assistance, he managed to overpower the local Hawiye clans and establish the kingdom of Hobyo in 1878.[2][3]

The Sultanate of Hobyo's cavalry and fort.
In late 1888, Sultan Kenadid entered into a treaty with the Italians, making his realm an Italian protectorate. His rival Boqor Osman would sign a similar agreement vis-a-vis his own Sultanate the following year. Both rulers had signed the protectorate treaties to advance their own expansionist objectives, with Kenadid looking to use Italy's support in his dispute with the Sultan of Zanzibar over an area bordering Warsheikh, in addition to his ongoing power struggle over the Majeerteen Sultanate with Boqor Osman. In signing the agreements, the rulers also hoped to exploit the rival objectives of the European imperial powers so as to more effectively assure the continued independence of their territories

.

Look what happend to General Governor Keenadid when he denied to obey, his italian masters.
However, the relationship between Hobyo and Italy soured when Sultan Kenadid refused the Italians' proposal to allow a British contingent of troops to disembark in his Sultanate so that they might then pursue their battle against the Somali religious and nationalist leader Mohammed Abdullah Hassan's Dervish forces.[4] Viewed as too much of a threat by the Italians, Sultan Kenadid was eventually exiled to Aden in Yemen and then to Eritrea, as was his son Ali Yusuf, the heir apparent to his throne
And Boqor Osman died in Italian Jail :snoop:

You do realize this still makes you below Majeerteen ? South Somalia was completely colonized by the Arab from Zanzibar then by the British and then by the Italians.
Keep your enemies close, threes something called alliances but not in the way Hassan Sheik has with African jungle fever in Xamar .

You've been reduced to giving a account on how Facist Italy and super power Britain defeated your Majeerteen Sultanate (they are Somali after all and the bloodline to your King) ? Whats your point ? Should i tell you ? We were on the same level as these invaders yet you....The Arab from Zanzibar simply passed your freedom to the Italians/British with a agreement that you may not be Slaves. The pity.

You're primitive thinking is to exited. Hong Kong won its independence 10 years ago yet today its a powerhouse superior to its colonizer.

The Società Saline e Industrie della Somalia Settentrionale built on both sides of the peninsula of Ras Hafun ( Hafun and Hurdiyo) what would be the largest salt-works in the world.
Thank You Italians. Dessert people. Note largest in the world. Yet today we import Salt from the Netherlands.

The ajuuraan empire existed from 12-18 and after that there were a civil war between the samaale tribes WHO owned that kingdom.

so now lets go back to 1580. And Remember in this time the portuguese empire were the Worlds superpower + the entire arab World was ruled by the Ottoman for about 300 to 500 years. the only free arab states were Oman & Zanzibar, and they also got invaded by the portuguese empire. so Ajuuraan empire liberated them, and they in return gave tribute to Ajuuraan Empire based in Mogadishu.

Note: the portuguese recaptured the sawahili World, but not Zanzibar or Oman sinces they came under Mogadishu Protection.
Over the next several decades Somali-Portuguese tensions would remain high and the increased contact between Somali sailors and Ottoman corsairs worried the Portuguese who sent a punitive expedition against Mogadishu under João de Sepúlveda, which was unsuccessful.[34] Ottoman-Somali cooperation against the Portuguese in the Indian Ocean reached a high point in the 1580s when Ajuuraan clients of the Somali coastal cities began to sympathize with the Arabs and Swahilis under Portuguese rule and sent an envoy to the Turkish corsair Mir Ali Bey for a joint expedition against the Portuguese. He agreed and was joined by a Somali fleet, which began attacking Portuguese colonies in Southeast Africa.[35]

The Somali-Ottoman offensive managed to drive out the Portuguese from several important cities such as Pate, Mombasa and Kilwa. However, the Portuguese governor sent envoys to Portuguese India requesting a large Portuguese fleet. This request was answered and it reversed the previous offensive of the Muslims into one of defense. The Portuguese armada managed to re-take most of the lost cities and began punishing their leaders, but they refrained from attacking Mogadishu.[36] Throughout the 16th and 17th centuries successive Somali Sultans defied the Portuguese economic monopoly in the Indian Ocean by employing a new coinage which followed the Ottoman pattern, thus proclaiming an attitude of economic independence in regard to the Portuguese.[37]

Now how did those Zanzibaris came to Kismayo?

year--> around 1800 or late 17

After the civil war the empire split into 6 different kingdoms. one in Gedo, one in Hiiraan, one in Ogadenia, one in Barawe and kismayo(Jubboyinka iyo Shabellada hoose) one in bay and finally one in Mogadishu.

Those in jubboyinka were Biyomal&barawense, so they invited Zanzibaris as there Allies to Kismayo. so they can help them fight the others. but few years after that the italians arrived and the Zanzibaris Backstabbed Biyomal and made deal with the italians behind there backs. thats why Biyomal have fought one of the longest war against the italian colony.. Biyomals reputation comes from there war against the italian colony.

after the fall of Ajuuraan bc of the civil war. Oman chose to be still loyal so they gave tribute to one of the 6 Kings.
The Sultanate was governed by the Gobroon Dynasty. It was established by the Geledi soldier Ibrahim Adeer, who had defeated various vassals of the Ajuuraan Empire and founded the House of Gobroon. The dynasty reached its apex under the successive reigns of Sultan Yusuf Mahamud Ibrahim, who successfully consolidated Geledi power during the Bardera wars, and Sultan Ahmed Yusuf, who forced regional powers such as the Omani Empire to submit tribute.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geledi_Sultanate

To answer you Question no Arabs on HAGites land sxb.. Biyomal and there new Brothers backstabbed each other. but all in all Biyomal fought a long ass war, i guess the anger of treason gave them extra Motivation to fight.

Proof. Biyomals friendship with the Cursed Arabs.. they took out Ahmed Yusuf and his Brother. Biyomal was trippin. they killed this Young sultan before the italians arrived..

Yusuf was born in the town of Afgooye, where he stayed until the age of seven. His father subsequently sent him to Qur'anic schools in Barawa for studies.

Through his military dominance, Sultan Yusuf managed to exact tribute from the Omanis south of Lamu, and regularly extended his support to East African sultanates fighting the Zanzibaris.

He and his brother, Abukar Yusuf, were eventually defeated in the Battle of Cagaraan against the powerful military clan of the Bimal. Their bodies were taken to Merca by the Bimal sultan, where they were then displayed in front of a large crowd as a show of triumph. Upon seeing the bodies of the dead men, the women of the Bimal reportedly marvelled at the beauty of Ahmed Yusuf, which resulted in a public uproar with women demanding a proper funeral for the late Sultan.[1]

The Istunka tournament was developed in the Ajuuraan period and was celebrated subsequently each year during the Somali new year alongside other festivals such as Nowruz. It was not until the Geledi sultanate and the reign of Sultan Ahmed Yusuf that the martial art festival became a centralized tournament with separate teams each supported by an assembly of poets, female vocalists and dance groups throughout the duration of the contest.
