As we all know Gedo and Banaadir region were the first regions in Southern Somalia that have began and defeated Al-Shabaab from their territory. Now the Gedo forces have declared a war against the few remaining Al-Shabaab that control 2 districts of Gedo (Bardera & Burdubo). There has been military meeting in Beled Hawo were the Gedo forces in Luuq, Beled Hawo and Doolow been meeting up. They have declared the final battle of the total removal of Al-Shabaab from Gedo region. This will mean Gedo is the only region in Jubbaland free from Al-Shabaab and the second region in Southern Somalia to be free from Al-Shabaab forces after Banaadir.
