Daraawiish and the Kacaan Revisionsim 2 be exact he said
Image
I have been doing a research for a while on the Kuumbo Dervish myth, and while back last year while in some university copying jstor documents i came accross the tombs of Taleex fort, and as usual the Kuumbo mythology came apart, the author of the paper(1931) stated the clans and the names of the Dervish 6 tombs. In the image above the the first tomb on the right is that of a Habar Jeclo dervish mullah. The other 2 are 2 Hawiye Mullah's.
Does anyone know who these 2 Mullah's were and what Hawiye subclan they belonged too :?:

8-) Do you know their names + ranks it looks like they were very important and did many Hawiye participate cos many turned the Daraawiish into a clan thing or regional ps i'm not talking about their influence in the South-Central like Beledweyne etc

There are three standing tombs, different from these, at Falaad. A British description I read said these contained an Ogaden Sultan and two more local allies. Can't find the article now, but it's out there. It also said a wife of MAH was buried in a similar structure a short distance away, but I never saw it.

This looks like the tombs at Silsilad:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taleh

Taleh is home to several historic forts and structures dating from the colonial period and earlier. Of these, there are five forts erected by Mohammed Abdullah Hassan's former Dervish State in present-day Sool and Sanaag. Constructed between 1910 and 1915, most of the edifices are concentrated in the Sanaag region, including Jida Ali, Midhisho, Shimbir Bariis and Badhan. Taleh/Taleex is the largest of the structures. It was built around a collection of Dervish tombs, the earliest of which belong to Sultan Nur Ahmed Aman and Carro Seed Magan, the Dervish leader Hassan's mother. From 1910 to 1912, the Dervish constructed the main fort around the older tombs. They spent the next two years in the mountainous regions of Sanaag building three more smaller forts.[2]

We need to have the legendary historian Xplaya freed so that he can shed some light on this and many other issues.

OK, Samatar. Here's the source of the photo. See especially the last four pages and the references on the last page.

I am fairly certain the paragraph that begins, "South of the main cave-well is the considerable tomb of Abdullah Hasan senior" describes the tombs at Falaad, in which case they are not similar to those pictured. The ones at Falaad are like covered bowls on pedestals or columns, maybe 15-18 feet high. They have narrow vertical wooden doors just in the bowl part.

Wiki is generally up-to-date and a good place to start. Often, information is available nowhere else. In this case, we don't end up with any more names. It's Hassan's mother and father, Sultan Nuur, a Habr Jeclo and two unknown Hawiyes.

Wouldn't mind seeing Xplaya myself.

Do you have the link of the original book for verification? The one you provided is a new revision published after 2011 and it has somali translations :)
Anyway thanks for the info

Samatar,

That's a compilation of several sources. See the reference page at the end.

I will read your link more carefully in other time  . But what I can see in the last page of the link is consistent with Xplaya's claim, those three tombs belong to two Hawiye mulahs and a HJ mulah. I guess there other tombs in Taleex where Sayids mom and dad and the suldan of the HY are buried.

One of them like khalid said belonged to Xaaji Firxad the Habargidir Fiqishini darwiish, the other could have been either;

Jaamac Lugey a famous Sacad poet/abaanduule who took part in the darwiish campaigns in the Hawd in the late 1910s...

Or, Axmed Fiqi a Mudulood Shiiq that according to Abgaal elders was a qaadi amongst the darwiish and befriended the Mullah from his sojourn in Carabta...
