Al shabaab attacks of baladweyne happens at once heavely in some times not all the times, there is also a security belt around the town and no military attacks on it.

I guess they took advantage of the political situation in there and the out going laqanyo was away in xamar for a month until last week.

Good analyses but I disagree with the point of a group being sidelined when the governor, the deputy, the mayor, the secretary general of hiiraan belong to a 4 different clans...police and army are led by different clans plus each clan including HG are member in golaha maamulka.

NO. This is about the next administration, gaaljecel were very happy with laqanyo administration and their mayor position. I personally understood gaaljecel position after i debated with them through facebook. This clan my friend is not yet settled and believe it or not they are more in jubooyinka, one day I will pm you their own towns in jubooyinka including the beutiful raas kamboni(ahmed adan of gaaljecel) and you will be shocked!. Yeah gaaljecel brothers have two villages in hiiraan but do you know there are 50 villages in hiiraan? My subclan on it own has camalow let alone bigger villlages like moqokori of maxamed cali madaxweyne or beergadiid of ogoon cabdalla, or beer xaano of adan warsame or halgan of reer ugaas and cabdalla, garasyaani of cabdalla. Halgan is bigger than all of these, its a real town I can show you the pic yet is not a district!

Gaaljecel are true nomads, they wear shaal and carry toosh they have a lot of ceelal but not towns, majority of them don't settle. For example they were more than abgaal in baadiyaha johar back in the 70s, 80s now its dominated by abgaal.
From 91-93 johar was under hawadle but they lost it for mohamed dheere who arrived there after he got defeated in cabdi casiis, this guy has established the abgaal rule of johar.
