Gen. Galaal to PM: Dont put religious groups in your cabinet

Postby hydrogen » Tue Jan 14, 2014 11:36 pm

Mogadishu (Sh M Network)—General Mohamed Nur Galal who is among the top officials of Somalia’s armed forces has urged the newly appointed prime ministerof Somalia not to include individuals belonging to religious groups in his new cabinet.

The general added that religious parties or groups are the major problems causing instability in the country and should not be given major positions in the Government.

“We used to hear of religious parties or groups such as the Islamic court, Alshabab and now Damjid has emerged. These are the parental problems behind the insecurity and instability in Somalia” said Galal while speaking to radio Shabelle via the telephone.

On the other hand, Galal who addressed the general security of the country criticized the failed cabinet for mistakenly appointing a teacher as an interior minister.

“Education has many specifications and specializations and there is no way a teacher can relate to a security officer or even worse a security minister” added the general.

The general’s word comes at a time when majority of Somali politicians, Somali army and members of the public society keep on urging and reminding Dr. Abdiwali sheikh, the newly appointed prime minister of Somalia to in bring new faces suitable and capable of holding a ministerial.

It wasn't given to a teacher....but a Damn Jadiid water carrier. :snoop:
Yet again my points concerning security resonate with the Generals comments.

What I would like to see is a new approach by the international community.
Less emphasis should be put on Hassan Sheikh's squabbling regime, and instead the security forces should be taken over.
All equipment, procurement and salaries should be removed from Govt control.

New recruits would be trained and then deployed to fight and eradicate Al Shabaab.
There must be a constant offensive against the terrorists, without any let up.
Soldiers are to serve six weeks in theater then two weeks R&R.

If security is left to the Govt....we'll still have 30,000 Bantu in Mog for decades. :D :som:
