Taxing those who could barely make the ends meet is gonna backfire big time.

I was simply refering to the effectiveness of their ability to generate revenue. Something this government, which doesn't really have any support is unable to do.

They just designed a system. It needs to be passed by the parliament. Perhaps be patient and wait for the work to begin? Somalis do not have patience or maybe they have no ounce of realism

They are all clowns.

If Abdiwahab was the PM or Finance Minister, I would be raising $3 million in taxes per day 8-) or approximately $90 million per month. All gunmen would be gainfully employed and awarded for bonuses for fighting AS and enemies of regime. Every gunman, soldier, and militiaman from Ras Kiamboni to Zeilac would be know my name as Abdi Dollar courtesy of the $200 per month wired to them as long as they are fighting to secure the country from enemies of the state.
The funny thing is that a few ispaaros in Xamar, and few other places could make that money easily. But we are so ineffective that this government litterally drools for a few million a month from dekada xamar.

The warlords were more effective organizations than these rascals. We need a real warlord to take over this government

Perfect Order,

Adeer, the money is there what is not there is the WILL. Put me in a position of power and watch me produce $$$. I would put the squeeze on the business community, squeeze the khat industry, etc.

The warlords were MEN unlike these puss.ies in the FG. They held their own and didn't depend on others for the basics.

So is that why Shabab is 'taxing' the rural communities to support their war efforts ? Shabab collected 'taxes' more ruthlessly than any other Somali organization

realism would of been tax and war the govt's priority from day one.

AW necessity breeds efficiency. It was survive or die for them, they weren't put in an alternate reality where everything is taken care of for them.

Are you bonkers? How can they tax when they there is no good security, no proper financial system, banking system, trained tax workers etc. A country first needs security before it moves for other necessities. That is realism!

You do know that the government gets money in other means that taxing business owners.

Who said Al-Shabaab collect more many than SFG? They might enforce people to give up their farm money or livestocks or charcoal trade. But that does not mean they are more effective, if anything they are brutal and a threat to the society.

The warlords were less dangerous than these buffoons who work for the IC. The warlords were all about keeping it domestic while these buffoons who are in a govt that is on life support are mortgaging the country to remain on life support.

Get over it. Warlords days are over, its all about governance, law and order. If you want warlords days go to the ghettos of USA. Somalia has returned back to its days of normalism :eat:
