Gadabursi people are not bad. They have few noisy people like the crazy Sheikh in Borama laakiin sidooda kale waa iska OK. Most of the time, they tend to be Muxaafid and supportive to authorities they are under.
Cabdikarim, I guess you have some Gadobursi relatives?

Yh I know ......waa iska caadi most of the time, I was joking previously.
Laakin sometimes waxaad is odhanaysaa cuqdad bay yara qabaan.

I have no Gadabursi relatives, although I know of quite a few
because we were born and raised in Djibouti.

OK, waan gartay, the way you used to report any small event in Awdal made me think you are half Gadabursi or something like Aisha.

Any chance you are from quarter 7?

Ninyow, I can't remember school names cause I didn't stayed there that long laakiin the Masjid I am talking about was between the Cinema, cinema le Paris and Jago Buldhuq area. when you are at the door of the cinema cross the road in-front of you and go little bit further and on your left there was a Masjid.

Yh, now I remember the place, did you have family in the area?

There were quite a few Isaaqs in Quartier Sept even though
our natural home was more Quartier Trois

Q3 is where my mom was born though she moved to hargiesa at very young age.

I know Q3 is a Isaaq stronghold

Niyo I am curious ...since leaving Djibouti, I haven't been back much

I know a lot of the Isaaqs of Djibouti left for the west and during the 90s
Is there still a substantial population?

You get the feeling people forget about Djibouti once they leave

I heard there is still a sizable number of Isaqs still there. Laakiin majority of them either left for the west or moved to Hargiesa.
Djibouti is poor and expensive now days compared to Hargiesa. Meeshii Ciise yar yar oo madmadow iyo in yaroo canfar ayaa isugu hadhay, dadkii kale way ka yaaceen:lol:

Land prices are very expensive I hear ...
I suspected as much, a group moving to Hargeysa
and another group to the west.

You only have to see hargeysa and the west for the sheer number of former reer
djiboutis

Lool ...it is true, a Ciise straight from Shiniile Dhir Dhaba and other places in Itoobiya
always had bigger stake in the place than some Isaaq traders who had lived there for generations.

Isuppose it's only fair everybody should build his own lands rather than
invest in other peoples homes

Djibouti is expensive generally. I have seen people who make $1000 in Djibouti who are worse of than those who earn $300 in Hargiesa.

It is better for isaaqs to invest in SL than any other place. Djibouti and Ethiopia are the second homes for Isaaq but Djibouti has not been doing well lately and Ethiopia is lead by Woyane mafia, it is no good.
