Future Somali elections

Postby AbdiJohnson » Fri Apr 11, 2014 6:03 pm

Last week I was watching election results where millions of people casted their ballots and within 25 minutes of polls closing, the winning party was announced. Yes, 25 minutes. It was a media projection but all ballots were counted by the end of the night by the elections agency.

Is it possible for future Somali elections to have results by the morning? Waiting 2 months for election results is pathetic. I don't expect media projections. Somali media is not media but gossip stations who have illiterate journalists who aren't aware of the methodology used.

I think what is possible is for all the ballots and results to be released by the time Somalis wake up the next morning
