best place for a capital city?

Postby sahal80 » Mon Apr 14, 2014 6:36 pm

Just as example, If qalafe wasn't occupied, it would have been the best place for a capital city because of being in the middle of directions

For a tribal society like somalis, the capital city shouldn't be located in the heart of any traditional clan

If a clan can't control the situation, the rest will be far from the civilizational influence too

It should be in the middle where all the clans can invade and exchange the civilizations and the social and economical developments can continue without wasting time.

The place being close to the borders is not a problem, damascuss is close to the borders.

the state will be able more to control the country from the center, I don't think somalia can be ever ruled again from xamar for the above factors unless an equal power was given to the regions and with the help of the african "caretaking countries"

Such a tribal society needs a geographical change.
This is an example

If the somali state is back, the tigray state will come to an end

I think tigraay will come to an end on the egyptians hands

Look at the location of the ethiopian capital, no wonder why manalik has chosen it

Its located between the habasha and oromo

The tigray are ruling because they had access to the sea, bordering states and have received the foreing backing including somalia

Amhara(in gondar, waalo etc) has no access so nothing can reach them

The oromo can't do shyt anyways but the absence of somalia makes their case worse but they are strategic card for somalia

Addis Ababa was actually an Oromo town called Finfinne (it was their biggest town then)and you are right, it was a way for the united Habesha Abyssinian kingdom to both forever control the Oromo as well as the fact it was dead center and a way to control all the regions at the same time

though your right about these nations putting the country first we still don't need reconciliation, conflict is part of the nature

What you need is the capital to be located between the center of powers

There are some clans that are very active and others who wouldnt, the capital should have been located in between baladweyne, galkacyo, waqoyi and somaligalbeed. One of these regions would have had the chance each time.

The Only Central location, where Somalia's two biggest clan meet is Galkayo. It's home to Both Hawiye Iyo Darood.

The only way this is possible is to simply plan a brand new city from scratch. Somewhere between Baraawe and Kismayo or somewhere in the central regions.

Hawiye don't live in the North, neither do D&M. The biggest thing was a town that intersects with all/most clans.

The few things that somalis made a right decision in their history was to agree Xamar as the nation's capital. I mean where else in Somalia you can find a town with clean light yellow soil surrounded a river on 1 side and an ocean on the other. A city with gentle windy climate all year round and far away from the hostile borders. Only Warsheekh and Cadale can somehow challenge Xamar.

How many capitals in the world have been blessed with this kind of beautiful beach. Not many. :blessed:
