Meth, that arguement is null and void considering the state framework was democracy. Egal made an opposition party and eventually became PM. The problem is, (this may be considered controversial) North-South divide is something only you deem acceptable. Northern Somalia was only 2 regions whereas Southern Somalia was 6. The North was simply a territory of Somalis carved up, just like Galbeed and NFD. If Galbeed became independent, does that mean power should be shared 3-way?

There was no state to begin with since the binding documents were not signed by Somalia, in other words there was no union, so your argument is null and void.

However

Meth might be a confused dude but what he's talking about is that there was no equal power sharing at the time of the illegal unification. There had been no elections yet during the one year interim government Somalia got the President, Prime minister, speaker and all the important government positions not to mention 133 MP's were from Somalia while 23 MP's were from Somaliland. Two of the government positions were given to Somaliland politicians.

The intentions of Somalia was clear. Just to correct you, Somaliland was never part of Somalia and never will, it's not northern Somalia but northern parts of the Somali Republic.
