Xamar shouldn't have been the capital...

...it should have been Hargeisa or another town in the North.
Yes, Mogadishu was shinier and far more developed than any other city, but the British's lack of development and influence in the North allowed the people to govern their land and manage their affairs on their own. The Italians on the other hand, ran the show til independence. It was a mistake to uproot all the existing institutions in the North and move it to Xamar. The reason the first few governments failed was because of the sheer fact that it was dominated by Southerners who weren't equipped with the prior experience of self governance. Today Somaliland's government, despite its shortcomings, is far more politically stable than the well funded Somali Federal Government.
If Xamar was the financial capital (like Toronto and NYC), and Hargeisa/Berbera/Borama was the political capital (like Ottawa or Washington DC), perhaps we wouldn't be in the same mess as were in today.

Another thread about Xamar should-have-not-been a capital.
Wax laga hadlo haddii la waayo, Xamar this and that is always an option.

In fact that i only found out Siilaanyo called Hawiye elders to come to hargeysa after fear of jeberdi only to use makes me wonder this Sland and Jeberdis are Dameer iyo labadiisa dhagood they both powerless and only look their own interests and relay on Ethiopia and Kenya
Like the powerless Jeberdis who bring and use Ethiopia and Kenya against mighty Hawiye we know now when this two collide over recent days and etheiopia and kenya are on both sides, Sland called the only real supper power Hawiye elders to come from Mogadishu to Hargeysa,. The prisident of Somalia didnt know this elders leaving and was pissed of it was Siilaanyo who organized and invite them to come after fear of powerless Jeberdis since they are on a same page.
This two landers both are jokes and ass lickers of ethiopia. No one needs no one, and only time will tell who is needs who.

The elders were not Hawiye elders but an assorted group of many 'koonfur' clans. Just because the Hawiye ones were the most relevant doesn't mean they all were from that clan. As far as I know, the Hawiye elders left early and it was the other clans who stayed for the may 18th celebrations.

Mogadishu suffered the most in recent decades. Nothing good comes out of being the "capital" for South Somalia other than misery. Hargeisa
should remain Somaliland's capital only, not the capital of a neighboring state.

Waxaan la yaaba Isaaqa ka hadla Mogadishu iyo Somalia.
To the OP it's not your country and therefore none of your business. If it was up to me I would have the Isaaq residing in Somalia and the ones constantly talking about Somalia executed. A bullet to the head.
