Hargeisa's population is close to, if not, a million. How's Somaliland's population even less than puntland's dumbass? The reason this kind of shit doesn't happen in the north is because of patriotism. Everybody in your family and tribe will snitch on you if you even show signs of extremism out of duty. There is also reverence for the Guurti and elders which doesn't exist in the south. All coupled with an actually semi-capable government. Short answer? Xamar and the south I don't think have this culture of interrogation. Someone told me this strange story of a white man who lived in Xamar in a hotel during the height of the civil war for years. For what, I dont know but no one seemed to have questioned it.

This has nothing to do with city size. I am myself able to figure who is a local or not in my own city without hearing them speak. Their demeanour, how they carry themselves is a dead giveaway. The central government has demonstrated that it is unable to secure the building of Parliament, let alone Benadiir. I have come to the conclusion that HSM is directly financing Alshabab in order to get more aid money. The leader of Alshabab in Benadiir is the cousin of HSM, Yusuf Kabokutukade. The president is giving money to his cousin and then pretending to fight him. It is all a farce, like Original Dervish said. The same business people that are supporting the government also support Ashabab so they don't lose everything in the case either sides win or lose. This will never be solved until all administrations from P/l to Galmudug to XX to Ahul sunna to Hiraan to jubaland pool their militaries and march on Mogadishu to clean alkebab from it.
