Best Somali Cities Ranking

Postby Murax » Fri Jun 20, 2014 11:43 am

By 'Somali City' I'm talking about a city no matter if its in Somalia/Kenya/Ethiopia that is ethnic Somali. I'm chosing for the best combination in Size, Infrastructure and Safety.

Number 1: is by far Jigjiga and I don't think its close

Number 2 is Hargeisa. Doesn't have Xamar's size or economic vibrancy, but its still large and very safe.

Number 3 is Mogadishu. Economically there is a impressive business community, as well as economic potitential. Only problem is very unreliable safety.

Jigjiga is exaggerated, it's really small compared to xamar and hargeisa, and the power is really unreliable, comes and goes as it pleases. Also, you could get arrested at any moment for nothing at all. Don't let all the dhaanto parties make you forget about the brutal occupation.

Djibouti should be number one. Garissa is progressing a lot too. I believe cities in Somalia would have bypassed these if it were not for the lack of real lasting peace in the country.

Jigjiga is very promising its not a real big city but it has allot of potential and there is allot commercial activity there the past 2 years the Ethiopian government has neglected it but the current Kilil admin is doing allot of good things there.

Hargeysa is rapidly growing beyond Hills in the past 10 years the city has grown to all corners for a city that was leveled to the ground it has done very well the past 2 decades a bit of city planning is needed here and there

I yet have to visit Mogadishu prior to 1989 does not count , the city has going through transformation the past 3 years , Mogadishu for a city with constant in fighting should be given allot of credit for its rapid development the city is very Business friendly and there is money to be made there for sure.

wallahi I can say with confidence u have not been in somali lands since the war broke out or were never there from the start. what a dumb list  I will say Hargeisa number 1, djibouti 2 mogadishu 3. But if peace was not a factor, xamar is number 1 no contest.

Djabouti is number 1, but hargeisa would be number 1 if it was recognized

If security was not a determinant, then Muqdisho would take first place.

As it stands

Djibouti
Hargeisa
Muqdisho
Jigjiga

Hows Djibouti more safer than Hargeysa

Hargeysa is one of the safest cities in the horn of Africa

I know the Xawaadles are biased towards Djibouti because of the Amisom troops in Hiiraan , but lets be fair here saaxibyaal
