A/Y AUN tried to change the capital to Baydhabo in 2004, it didn't work. The terrorists came to Baydhabo after him.
They will chase the capital where ever it is.
The problem is not Xamar in itself but that the Parliament, the PM, and the President are all in Xamar.
Baydhabo is way to close to the Ethiopian border.

Anyway for us in Puntland the only real solution would be to break up the country. We need to close our borders and build up our country. We can't waste any more time waiting for a cursed place to get better, twenty three years is more than bloody enough.

Some ppl are using chicken brain, Xamar is the capital of Somalia and as long as Xamar is in shit Somalia will be in Shit.

For those who are saying we should move the administrative capital from Xamar, we have tried that and it didn't work, what Somalia needs is a leadership, a leader who can build the security sector.

It actually did work very well. Not in Jowhar because the TFG was kicked out by Maxamed Dheere but it worked in Baydhabo. Baydhabo was pretty stable. Infact I say why not just start a BRAND NEW town form scratch with professional urban developers. Checkpoints well outside the city with a ID and Registration Center including fingerprint biometrics, the whole 9.

Let Mogadishu be the commercial hub.
lol and where will the gov get money from? it will cost billions of dollars.

What we have to do is wait and see if a better leader than Qoslaye is elected in 2016.
Hopefully some change or improvement will occur then

They're going to have to make the case to the Int'l Community that this is what is needed for a stable seat of Gov. Its also not without precedent as Nigeria did the exact same thing as Lagos was simply too dangerous. Somalia Has leverage with its potential oil. The world didn't start to get interested in Somalia again because of their good hearts. Anyways something has to be done. Insanity is trying the same thing, all over again and expecting different results.

The IC won't even help to build an effective army and you're talking about asking the IC to fund billions of dollars worth new capital.

there is no safe place to move the capital from gaalkacyo to kenya border, is within reach of elements that dont want peace.. i say move it to hargeisa make an agreement with dir and darood mps to vote to have it relocated. mogadishu will fall apart within months when the resources dry up they wont be able to sustain offenses in shabbelle or hiiraan or threaten jubba. we help daarood consolidate power in south central somalia and put a leash back on the hutu beast. we agree with them that we hold a referendum in somaliland and they control italian somalia like they use to. rewind the hands of time back to 1960.

For the first time ever I agree with the people posting here about splitting the country up. I agree 100% and want this to happen So badly because now I see how this shithole is slowing down the Northern Cities. (Bosaso, Hargeisa)etc. let somaliland and puntland be free so that they dont have to suffer because of this terrible capital

Why should the nation be a hostage to Muqdisho....Retarded Sucession isn't the answer, but what is - capital won't be moved for some time.
