If you knew anything about Somali history you would know that the aspirations for a separate Somaliland started right after the illegal unification process and in 1961 (8 years before Siyaad Barre came to power) there was an attempted coup in which young military officers tried to reclaim the sovereignty of our country.

The process was illegal. In reality there was no union between Somaliland and Somalia.

if Somalia (who claims to represents the non existent Somali republic ) can't claim Djibouti, NFD or K5 on irredentist basis how can it claim SL? If we apply the same standard of logic then Somalia can't and should not claim SL.

Because british somaliland and italian somaliland actually had say, my brothers in djibouti were still under french occupation, my brothers in western somalia were under habash occupation, and my brothers in NFD were still under the british they still were under control. Explain to me what happened in 1961, how was the process illegal?
