We have to closely observe to have a clear understanding of the supporters of the SFG President and PM, the US finds itself in a difficult position the United states on one hand wanted to reward the most fragile entity they have helped created since the year 2004 The state department surprisingly fully put its weight behind Hassan sheikh Maxamuud and it gave it the recognition support diplomatic support and even extend military support via Djibouti and Qatar unprecedented move,, something on which the US remained reluctant to see with all the previous TFGS. Its seems the US wanted the SFG to succeed more than Somalis
This was done without any signs of forward movement a workable constitution and on ‘State-Building’ reconciliation etc the US was not interested, Somalia had a new government they fully backed it for the sake of it . It was all in all based on simple hope that the prestige of Americas legitimacy would help a rotten system work better this time. But on the contrary the US cannot build Somalia they miscalculated it has to be Somalis that should do the work and till this day Somalis seems to be not interested. The US Foreign policy was always about how to contain the Somali troubles with in the Somali borders and protect the darlings of the west Kenya and Ethiopia western interests. The Dual track policy was never off the table practically it was working but it was up to the government of Mogadishu to make Mogadishu the center like it was once, but there are troubles as it seems.
