Reread what I added, a countries name is what the constitution says.
Ok xataa that constitution was written by us in 1960 and had no waqooyi contribution in it!

You just accepted it and forgot your own!

Here's is stating somalia

"CONSTITUTION

PART I

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1

The Republic

1. Somalia is an independent and fully sovereign State. It is arepresentative, democratic and unitary Republic. The Somali people is oneand indivisible.

2. Sovereignty belongs to the people who shall exercise it in theforms determined by the Constitution and the laws. No part of the peoplenor any individual may claim sovereignty or assume the right to exerciseit.

3. Islam shall be the religion of the State.

4. The national flag shall be azure in colour, rectangular, and shallhave a white star with five equal points emblazoned in its centre.

5. The emblem of Somalia shall be composed of an azure escutcheonwith a gold border and shall bear a silver five-pointed star. Theescutcheon, surmounted by an emabattlement with five points in Moorishstile, the two lateral points halved, shall be borne by two leopards rampantin natural form facing each other, resting on two lances crossing under thepoint of the escutcheon, with two palm leaves in natural form interlacedwith a white ribbon."

Somali republic, the republic of somalia, jamhuriyada somalia were the official names equally!

Check out the old somali money in arabic, italian somali, clearly says somaaliyaa both in arabic and somali or somaliyah/somalia

Sorry khalid there's no somalida lol

sahal give up bro. there was no somalia 1960 to 1969. there is no better evidence than the above historic clip of sharmarke. afweyne reintroduced tha name Somalia as the official name of the entire somali nation.
So you know more than your former leader cigaal? If you don't trust me google it or i will post the source by myself!

What more evidence than the UN itself?

Try to be rational!

This is from a book called maamuladii iyo madaxdii soo maray somalia

"Ka dib markii ay madaxbannaanida gaareen gobollada Waqooyi ee Soomaaliya ee Somaliland 26kii bishii Juun sanadkii 1960kii & Gobollada Koofureed ee Soomaaliya , Italian Somaliland 1dii Luulyo isla sanadkaas 1960kii ay midoobeen labadaasi gobol isla waqtigaas, iyadoo midnimadaasi ka dib la isku raacay inĀ  labadaasi gobol ee midoobay in ay qaataan magaca "JAMHUURIYADDA SOOMAALIYA" ama "Republic of Somalia".

somali is adjective somalia a noun depends on the context. You can't call a country somali

Anyways my point was the the republic not somali vs somalia

Somali republic, the republic of somalia, jamhuriyada somalia were the official names equally!
:mindblown: No they were not equal. Every single country has only one Official name they go by on all government documents, papers etc
You need to understand the difference between the official and unofficial names of a country.

The copy of the 1960 constituion is down below notice how it starts off with
THE CONSTITUTION
OF THE
SOMALI RFPUBLIC
it goes on to repeat Somali Republic in there
http://www.ilo.org/dyn/travail/docs/217 ... on1960.pdf

Now your current constitution also starts out with
The Federal Republic of Somalia and it repeats this throughout the constitution
http://www.constitution.org/cons/somali ... tution.pdf

A country can have only One! official name and that is written in the constitution of every country in the world!

Contra principia negantem non est disputandum

Than sahal why do they say jamhuuriyada Somaliyeed and not Jamhuuriyada Somalia?
I think you guys r mixing the issues

When igal arrived xamar he was allied with a group of hiiraan mps-sh ali jimcale, abdullahi isse, adan adde- who were dominating SYL and the southren politics

SYL was established by them and baldweyne was its political capital-people often mistake SYL with SYC its predicessor who was just a political club- SYLs was founded abdullahi isse-

For example abdullahi iise was the prime minister, adan adde the speaker and sh ali jimcale was the partys strong man

In this era, igal and this group have adopted the name of the somali republic and they reached a non writen political agreement of the north represented by igal getting the pm

Adan adde has splitted earlier when he was the governor of mudug in the mid 50s under the trusteeship where he had some contacts with reer bari and he married a woman from there

During the legislative elections in 1956 he was back to baladweyne and he became an mp, then the speaker

From here he changed radically and there was no more coordination between him and the other two

Abdullahi iisa was less than the constitutional age to become president so they put forward sh ali jumacale-he was the first to be a presidential candidate-

Then adan adde has used his mudug relations promising them to make them a pm, the northern harti who were anti- sh ali jimacale-cigal have voted for him too and he won it by one vote

Here, every thing has changed

This is why cigal says we surprised by a new name like somalia-post-state not post-independence-

The govts representative at the UN was carrying the name republic of somalia/jamhuriyada somalia

This is why hiiraan is the only southren region who did not vote for the union among the old 6 southren provinces bc sh ali jimacale has felt this is not what him, abdullahi isse and cigaal agreed

I heard hassan sh is jimcalist and was against the old union but he crashed with the reality!.

Yusuf there was no Somalia even after 1969. Afweyne ironically added "democratic" lol to the official name. From 1960 to 1969 the official name was The Somali Republic, after the coup the official name hasn't changed much The Democratic Somali Republic. Never Somalia till the southern reverted to their colonial name Somalia.
