FM confirms of authorizing airspace for the saudi-led coalition

Postby sahal80 » Tue Apr 07, 2015 6:37 am

Heard from him saying they asked for and we authorized for them both our airspace and sea

"The federal government of Somalia has allowed the Saudi-led coalition to use its air space and sea in the attacks against Yemeni Houthi rebels.
Speaking to the BBC, Somalia’s foreign affairs Minister Mr. Abdisalan Omar Hadliye said that they have taken a clear stance on the Yemen conflict and his country does not condone overthrowing a civilian government.
“We are one of the members countries of the Arab league, we have take the same stand as our fellow members. We are against any forceful take over of power in any country including in Yemen which is just like our country” said the foreign minister.
Hadliye added that as a result, they will offer their assistance in the matter by offering their airspace and sea for use in the offensive.
“Our airspace and sea are open to the coalition and we have given them full authority to use them” said Hadliye.
The minister also noted that Somalia which was reeling from the effects of years of lawlessness has allowed six administration to peacefully transfer power and will not accept a legitimate government like Yemen to be taken over forcefully.

This government is a total joke. They dont give a shit about the hundreds of thousands of Somali refugees who may be targeted by the houthis as a result of this decision. If they cared about their people, they would've remained neutral.
