the srongest syrian rebel group is ahrar al sham and they mainly operate in idlib along side with the coalition of army of conquest wich includes al nusra the second strongest group and the free syrian army

the nature plays its role too in every region

for example in qalamoun its an an open mountainous region so the opposition cant keep their new lands bc of the airstrikes

the regime has strong shia base on the west side of the country from qalamoun to homs due to the lebanons backing specially hizpullah and the druze of lebanon

the opposition lacks save pasage due to isis control most of the borders but now having secured jisr al shugour they got the turkish backing so they r stronger in this area besides its natural frosts

as for darca, the opposition in there r mainly tribesmen operating under the sfa...I think they r weaker but may get better weapons from saudi arabia

they have secured save passage to jordan and r still waiting some military aid and coordination with the army of conquest

not necessary to liberate daraa in the short term, it will fall off by itself in the long term if you tighten your grip on the border crossings and in qunaytira province specially the east of qalamoun
