Yes but not all of them. One clan that is called maxamad gorgaarte is Hawiye. Madhibaan is the nick name of Maxamad gorgaarte. The sub-clans that are Hawiye are Kuulbeyr Maxamad and Xildiid Maxamad. Many other sub-clans join them from other somali clans. Reer Ciise bootaan, Reer eexayste, Sheikh Maxamuud guuleed, Cllaahi Xirsi baarleex are Hawiye.
