i don't get it. why some hate muqdisho so much. xamar is one of the best places to live. good weather, near to resources, low cost of living etc. xamar only need peace and stability in 5 years it will become the best city in east africa to live.
Because to them moqadishu = hawiye and they have hawiyephobia!!!!!!

sorry to bust your bubble but its only an over exaggerated number

the number you got for mogadishu is a "Population estimate based upon United Nations agglomeration estimate" and furthermore UN states that

"Births and deaths occurring in the cities do not all originate in the population present in or resident of that area. Therefore, the use of natural increase to estimate the probable size of the city population is a potential source of error. Internal migration is a second estimating component that cannot be measured with accuracy in many areas. Because of these factors, estimates in this table may be less valuable in general and in particular limited for purposes of international comparisons."

SO don't get too hyped up about Mogadishu size and population, is all a mirage and couldn't be possibly be more populated than Hargeisa
