Who were ICU? What were their views like?

Postby TheCadaanGuy » Sat Dec 26, 2015 7:12 pm

Is there any similarity to Al-Shabaab?

On other note, what were the differences between Al-Shabaab and Hizbul Islam?

ICU waa created by hutus warlords and treasure hunter clerics like Sh Sharif who formed a loosely pact of confederates.
Their main target was to overcome Abdullahi Yussuf regional recognised govt. They used thw guise of religion and coumaflaged well.

We are still suffering the effects of this ICU, I recall how everyone turned against Sacad whom had foreseen that this adventure will resuscitate a dying government, Yeey well before ICU had been lamenting about terrorists being in Mogadishu and requested Ethiopian troops, adeer caato (AUN) had took CIA operatives to Mogadishu to dispel these claims, same in Kismaayo, they saw ragtag warlords instead of bearded terrorists yeey was claiming.

What happened next was the rise of ICU, the death of over 200k Hawiye, the destruction of most of the capital, unimaginable loss of wealth and other hawiye cities because they have finally given credence to yeey's terrorist rants, an occupation we are suffering from until this very day, the creation of al-shabab with non hawiye leaders but the so called Jihad only centred on our cities, Men hailing as far as borama raised in the west carrying out truck bombings in our cities and hotels ONLY

The craziest irony is that very same leader of ICU ended up burying the man that brought 50000 Ethiopians into that country, then went all the way up to gaalkacyo and named the airport after him as an 'honour', hugged/kissed hillary, brought us Garowe 1 and 2 federalism project from the scum of Somalia

^^^ hey hutu man, you seem to suffer from memory issues. fast rewind: october 1993, your warlord killed 18 US marines in xamar and he demanded that UN/European/US troops should withdraw from Somalia. They packed and left. your warlord was shot dead by a 10yr old boy. fast forward: now you got bantu amison soldiers in xamar. this goes to prove that you're are hutus and you like your fellow bantu amisom soldiers. birds of feather really flock together.

Thanks for the replies, I've got few more questions to ask:

Did ICU have a clear tribal agenda or it was just a few high ranking men abusing their powers?

Was ICU's beliefs in Islam more like Al-Shabaab and Khawarij? I recall reading some of bad stuff ICU did but a lot of it was proven to be fake or bad leaders doing bad stuff. Can anyone confirm this?
