The export data, collected by the FAO-managed Food Security and Nutrition Analysis Unit (FSNAU), indicates that Somalia exported 4.6 million goats and sheep, 340,000 cattle and 77,000 camels in 2014, worth an estimated $360 million.

Livestock is the mainstay of the Somali economy, contributing 40 percent to the country's Gross Domestic Product.

Buyers from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait Qatar and United Arab Emirates have all taken advantage of Somalia's thriving livestock scene and its improved disease surveillance and control mechanisms.

Saudi Arabia, in particular, has contributed to steadily rising exports over the last six years, following a move to lift a 9-year ban on the import of livestock from Somalia aimed at preventing the spread of Rift Valley fever.

A meeting held by the Arab league’s members of parliament in Cairo has issued a statement concerning on Somalia’s division and how to instill unity among the Somali people.

The statement shows that the league fully supports Somalia as the country is part of the 22 countries in the league.

Among the issues agreed were:

To prevent the disunity among the Somalia people.
To seek and ensure the unity of Somalis
To initiate reconciliation programs in Somalia
To fight terror groups and those who are against the unity of Somali people.
To prevent any attempt to interfere with the independence of Somalia .
Arab League, is a voluntary association of countries whose peoples are mainly Arabic speaking or where Arabic is an official language.

It aims to strengthen ties among member states, coordinate their policies and direct them towards a common good.

Egyptians are hypocrites they now have feelings for Somalia.This is nothing more than a facade.Its the Nile Stupid! The Ethiopians have decided to consume more of the nile the Egyptians are like.

You don't have to be allies to export to another country. The EU hates Russia, yet it imports 40% of its gas from there. At the end of the day it's the Arabs that love our products. Somali people should stay out of the Saudi vs Iran war, at the end of the day it has nothing to do with Somalis
