Michael Keating expressed his delight to be in Puntland with colleagues from the African Union, IGAD, Ethiopia, Kenya, Italy, Sweden, UK, EU, US and Uganda.

“This is a very broad ranging group of people and the presence is evidence of the respect they have for Puntland,”Keating began with his briefing to reporters at Puntland State House.
He noted that they met with many people in the civil society, opposition as well as in the government, saying international community representatives are very grateful for the invitation.

Continuing, he said: “We are very impressed by what we’ve heard, we were impressed by how articulate and clear the views have been, we have received a number of documents and we are leaving Puntland with a much deeper understanding of the perspective of people here about the future of Somalia, about the future of Puntland and about the expectations of Puntland people for their future”.

Nin daad qaaday, xumbo cuskay. Puntland would be better off dealing directly with Mogadishu rather than running to white guys to complain about a political formula that they had role in creating.

The international community has a great amount of respect for both Somaliland and puntland, because in the whole of Somalia they are the only two, who rule themselves.

Jubbaland is controlled by the ic
Mogadishu is controlled by the ic
Galmudug is controlled by Mogadishu
South west is controlled by Mogadishu

What worries me most is that ever since the EU and Hilary gave their response to the increase piracy, there's been a sudden surge in resource interest among foreign governments. Initially it was just the Chinese on a purely private level but this is bad :meles:

Why deal with the incompetent unpatriotic folks in Mogadishu, when we can talk to their bosses directly?. Puntlanders safe guard Puntland, and 20,000 AU troops safe guard xamar and majority of the south. Puntland holds all the cards we pull out its a complete collapse and the west knows it, thats all that matters.

What cards do you hold? Mogadishu is the political and economic hub of the country. If you left today, no one would notice.

That being said, Puntland is commendable for the security and governance they established in their land.

Working overtime I see. Puntland should just declare independence. You can not and will not dictate others.

That's true, but if PL left today the amount of foreign aid designed for Xamar will decline
by at least 30%. At that time it was a smart move to establish PL and push Federal system, but today they can
see it's a 0% sum game. PL despite it's wide dessert could've been a fast emerging developing country now by utilizing
their strategic location instead of going back and fourth with Xamar. A price to pay for Daroodnimo I guess.

Mogadishu is where it's at today because of Puntlanders who have kept this dawlad alive for far to long. Compromise from Puntland side is over, if this NGO leadership don't come to their senses soon things about to get hella ugly. International community already threaten to pull out, who is that going to hurt the most Puntland or Xamar?

May I ask what has puntland contributed to this gov't? Soldiers? No. Taxes money? No. Political support? No. Puntland has been nothing but distraction. Any Somali would be more than happy to support puntland leave and form their gov't. I am not a hater but if they don't agree with us and we don't agree with them, why get stack together? Marka walaalahaan hala fasoxo. Somaliand can leave and puntland can leave.

Suun qawoow. The same can be said about the regime in Xamar what exactly has it done that we can tangibly see?

There has been 3 PMs since HSM took office 4~3 yrs ago.

The regime has been soiled by embezzlement of funds, bribery and corruption disregard to the Somalia constitution, war crimes in regards to Kismaayo,Marka and Jowhar, Hiiraan, Dusamareeb and Mudug.
When Sharif left AS was weak but know they are stronger and more daring.

So tell me exactly why HSM should be supported.I am not Allah but I think he will not live to see the elections or stay much longer. He HSM is trending on the same route as Meles.Meles died of a mysterious cancer and now Culusow is being diagnosed. The IC are a ruthleas bunch they ran the show in Africa and they force african regimes to incline.Just like Ruto and Uhuru getting a free pass.
