Imported Eggs?

Postby barbarossa » Sun Feb 21, 2016 8:23 am

At what level does a nation's collective laziness have to reach before it resorts to importing eggs, one of the most basic foodstuff known to man?

OD, this current trend of importing eggs from Yemen is a recent phenomenon, and does not predate Somalia's bloody civil war of the Nineties. Prior to that, there was never, to my knowledge, a need to import eggs for every Skinny household had enough hens to meet and exceed the demand for these wholesome nutrients.

Actually, raising chickens is a bloody hard work but more lucrative than camels, goats and cattle. I remember when one egg in Galkacyo or SL used to cost $0.40 after the Yemeni civil war hit Hodeidah, Taiz and other centers of production.

This could be Mogadishu

In Xamar they don't use the term Digaag.

Eebow if doro/dooro is not mentioned, it ain't Xamar.

It could be one of the Digaagian regions :russ:

Back to the topic.

Somalis only know importing, eating, and fadhi ku dirir.

my bad!! I only read the title "Somalia"

when LeJ was 6 years old he moved in Marka with his parents.

One day I have seen co-malcamad mate throwing up.

LeJ: asked her parent, maxaa ku dhacay fartuun?
Parent: Dooray ka dheregtay
LeJ:  :? :x
Weeks later our parents noticed something wrong when they see that we grew apart, each of us go malcaamad on his way.
My parent: Maxaad inanta ugu raaci weyday malcaamada?
LeJ: iga daaya, raaci maayo waxa doorada cuna.

Shekadaasi waxay gaadhay magalaada oo dhan. Waxay noqotay wax lagu madadaasho.
