To the oromo guys , the question I have for them how do u plan to unite and work with the Amharas when the royalist Amhara are straight outlining their plan of an Ethiopian political leadership of the Amhara as the only leader of ethiopia. Amahara language is the only language and all the other ethiopian ethnicities to be second class citizen as like before in hsitory under the various Amhara kings. From Ethiopian history we can see that Amhara hate oromos have done many massacres to include oromis onto their abynissian empire. So how will two different political forces work togther when they stand for two very different and opposing forces . the Amharas wants to rule over you even opresse u and force their religion onto u while u whant to work with to overthrew the existing regime. Waachis care to explain. With the Somalis wther ogaden or others in Somali region its simple Ethiopia always use to deny this region and illey is their to kill silence the people.
the amhara we negotiate with, will have to first and foremost agree to the fact we oromos will rule ourselves.
oromia shall elect its own leaders with NO INTERFERENCE from abyssinians or non-oromos.
oromia shall establish its own defense forces, militia, police forces.
the roles of these forces is to protect oromia, its people and the resources of oromia.
if not, if they cannot accept these justified conditions, we will not accept negotiations with amharas,
and we will just build up our forces quietly, training, arming, etc, while the two abyssinian cousins kill each other. (amhara and tigrayans)
i have always advised oromos: do not beg others when we are 40 million strong. if they want to negotiate with us based on mutual benefits, sure, if not, we can do this alone. i always said: do not interfere when our two historical enemies, amhara and tigray, are killing each other.
let them weaken each other, while we strengthen our Oromo liberation army....
egypt is already smiling and shaking hands with us in secret and negotiation; while pretending they're not in public.
do not be surprised to see egyptian generals overseeing training of oromo freedom fighters in bases in sudan and eritrea.
brother why don't oromo just want to break away from ethiopia, does the average oromo believe in being part of ethiopia? do you/oromos believe the ahmras will really share ethiopia with you guys or any one else if they ever get back to power? what is belive amongs christian and muslim oromos in ethiopia, do the chritians want to stay and muslims go (like mohamed Jowary), i know oromos working with us Ogadens, does the avergae oromo want to delacre their own nation Oromia like we do?
(we have smartly allied with tigres in one foot whilst also allied with oromo/ahmars etc in the other foot, we have decided to bet our hedge against both paradigms as its politics after all) if you guys get a good share of power, do you believe in federalism or strong centralism for ethiopia if you lot decide to stay on?
i await your answers my neighbour, cheers.
brother why don't oromo just want to break away from ethiopia? does the average oromo believe in being part of ethiopia?
this is a complex question. reason #1 being the huge population of oromos, spread over a very large land from sudan in the west to the somali areas in the east. some oromos have been more assimilated into the ethiopian state structure, such as the shoans, some from wallaga in the west, and wollo. many of these groups speak both amharic and afaan oromo.
these groups see their interests linked with ethiopia's survival---but they can be convinced otherwise if we show them independence is the only way. put it like this: we have yet, as a nation, collectively, to reach a consensus on our future. the majority of those who want independence are the most marginalized oromo clans and groups, usually the muslims of the east and south, in areas like arsi, bale, hararghe/the lands where we border somalis.
do you/oromos believe the ahmras will really share ethiopia with you guys or any one else if they ever get back to power?
it depends on which amhara group we negotiate with. the ones who want to rule everyone tend to be the older generation, like from the derg's days and even before. the younger ones, who grew up in the post-derg days, tend to be more liberal and open-minded; believe it or not.
they were showing solidarity with oromo protesters in gondar. some oromos even went there, got guns, and joined their fight against tplf.
things can change. but i promise u, this generation of oromo, even tho we're far from perfect, we will never everrrrr accept amhara rule again.
we do not intend to replace one habasha dictatorship with another one. if they get lucky and get power, ethiopia will make syria look like hollywood.
what is belive amongs christian and muslim oromos in ethiopia, do the chritians want to stay and muslims go (like mohamed Jowary), i know oromos working with us Ogadens, does the avergae oromo want to delacre their own nation Oromia like we do?
most christian oromos are struggling for freedom too. their language was banned in churches until recently. they were oppressed too. they were made fun of. looked down upon. etc. many of them still believe in one ethiopia to be honest.
some/a lot of them, still have hope in one ethiopia. especially since christian oromo warriors played a huge role in making ethiopia.
and muslim wollo oromo soldiers did too. so it's not just christians. for example, i am from the macca oromo clan which lives from the west to the south oromia, and many of us are muslims, and many of them support one ethiopia.
as far as independence goes? i do not think it's such a popular idea yet. there are many problems, like, drawing up the borders of it.
will it include addis ababa? dire dawa? harar? will it answer our questions or bring more conflicts over borders?
