So basically
Assad controls 70% of the population at this point with all of the major Syrian cities under his control.
The FSA/Turkish alliances is aiming to take over Northern Aleppo province and marching to Raqqa.
The Kurds have their own areas marked in the north and been fighting FSA/Turkey
Idlib is under rebel control with infighting happening between groups.
lol no way. Regime controls population centers not the provinces. for example before his last gains he was controlling 13% of the aleppo province. population of aleppo city is 2 million. countryside has 3 million

the reason regime controls population centers is due to the sunni business men supporting him. all aleppo factories are found on the west side. east side r poor people. in the middle are found an area totally depend on the regime like the 3000 housing project and 1700 housing project, military housings, al assad suburb. all of them fight for the regime bc they fear losing of their lands. xisbul bacth bases. there is a isolated kurdish sheikh masoud area who control themselves....they come from the nothern country side. when regime get closer at castilo road they backstabbed the rebels

assad contols more damascus province apart from qalamoun, eastern ghouta, southern country side. there are non war zones like al tal
lattakia, suwayda,
rebels control 90 of qunaytira, the whole idlib, much of daraa, nothern hama, nothern homs, southern aleppo country side all of them have big populations
last year a white guy who make war maps, hes even inclined to the regime as he calls them SAA wrote this
40% of pop under Assad, 25% Rebels, 20% IS, 15% Kurd

Yeah, I meant to say, he controls 70% of the population centers as he controls the urban areas of the biggest cities.
So, Sahal, where do you see the war going now? Aleppo is a symbolic victory but it doesn't really change things. SAA is over stretched, they can't take over Idlib.
Fah, this is not lattakia, not even aleppo where you have palestinian pockets such as mukhayam haydarat and the kurds who contributed to its siege, closest pro-regime spot is the zahraa neighboutrhood of homs. the whole homs desert are found pro-daesh towns and bedouin tribes. regime media calls it ربط الاوصال بين خلايا داعش النائمة
connecting daesh peripheries
in this region, they act like the islamic courts..its not outside attack. last time when daesh captured al qaryatayn, stright maheen and hawaren have declated their allegiance to daesh
that why regime has first secured palmyra from the west side before al qaryatayn
why they support daesh? they r against the NDF from the christian sadad, maloula in qalamoun
the bedoun are at war with the druze in eastern suwayda
plus the bedouns sell the daesh oil to suwayda and from there the druz distribute it to the regime-held areas like damascus. its called daesh mazoot
so in this isolation, the russians have rejected any deployment of local/sunni militias for their own safety. the only militias in there were from lattakia and hizbullah. to defend a town you need local forces. thats why its impossible for the regime to control tadmur
this article was published last may and has predicted alot
