President Farmaajo announces Peace conference, Somalis only

Postby grandpakhalif » Mon Feb 20, 2017 4:05 am

omali President Farmaajo has announced that the capital Mogadishu will host a peace and reconciliation conference in June.

President Farmaajo informed reporters that, “only Somalis will be allowed to attend the conference. No UN. No EU. No AU. No USA and no Ethiopia. Only Somalis.”

For the first time in more than 25 years, the conference will bring together leading Somalis, from all parts of Somalia, in a major national reconciliation conference. The conference will draw all parties to discuss a peace and reconciliation plan for Somalia.

Government incompetence and corruption, Al-Shabaab atrocities, and a culture of unaccountability have enraged the Somali people to a point where they are ready to come together in a spirit of negotiation, President Farmaajo said.

President Farmaajo also noted that all Somalis recognized the need for a restructuring of the power-sharing system; the status quo has left Somalia only with violence and division.

This will be a significant step towards true peace and reconciliation in Somalia, and will also represent the first time Somali’s are coming together under a neutral banner of their own volition.

in 1988. Barre and his superior American weapons reacted by emphatically crushing the SNM movement. He essentially leveled the rebel cities. Many civilians died in the crossfire; thousands more fled their homes for the countryside, where water and shelter were short.

^^ Reconciliation from a man who reduced genocide... to nothing more than victims cough in a crossfire, is not a reconciliation but a bad pantomime.

What statement is false?

SNM also used to target civilians from Isaaq and non Isaaq and used to hide under civilians.

Furthermore it was MSB that build woqoigalbeed. What did the British build when they left? all the road you see and infrustracture was build by the kacanka.
Dhigshiil and SNM was the only thing Diaspora Isaaq built. Isaaq infact became well off under MSB and he build alot.
We all know there is no Agriculture of Livestock in Woqoyi galbeed and it was the South that sustained its existance.

Good step foward. all clans need to come together and have a serious sit down.

Isaaq and Darood need to work their bullshit out. Darood and Hawiye too.

Even within Qabiils there is big enemity. Majeerten and Dhulbahante, Ogaden and Mareehan soo kuwii iscuney ma aha? Habar Gidir fought with Abgaal and Abgaal with Murusade. Isaaq had the habro wars in the 90s

The point is no one is innocent but the minority clans. We definitely need this reconciliation. Hope we make history in June :wow:

This government is just getting better and better. We need to talk about all the war crimes done by all sides in the civil war.
