Its one thing is this is France in Djbouti, or Turkey in Mogadishu. Say what You will but those are countries with bonafide militaries, who are also part of NATO. But some 'Bebsi' drinking, beer belly Emaraatis, who would rather eat lamb and rice and watch Football arn't some military juggernauts by any stretch. I am 100% sure this 'Military base' is not going to be for UAE but actually for someone else but the question is WHO is really behind this and who will REALLY actually be using it?

Walle, iyo bille if any one of You lived and spent time in the Khaleej, You would know how laughable this is, UAE with a foreign military base. I am sure in Masar, Egyptians are laughing hard at this news

If it was laughable your president wouldn't have gone to Saudi Arabia and beg them to interfere on his behalf. Berbera is in Somaliland and it's up to that country to do with it as they see fit.

Farmaajo rely on foreign troops for his security, yet here you are trying to mock people who are responsible for their own security.

Al-shabaab bombing. Fighting in marca. Bakaaraha burning.

all within a week of farmaajo's inauguration. Could It be a sign from above?

Sxbyaal waxba ma ogtiin, wax aad ogtihiin ba iska yar hadaan runta ka hadlo, Masar has been begging the somalis for years about military base while Somalia was under a heavily ethiopian influence which ended up masar getting the middle finger, now that farmaajo is elected and damujadiid thiefs was about to get toppled UAE which has no functioning foreign army has been used to cover masar's military and requested for military base in somaliland where silaanyo who's term is about to end up agreed to the base with the blessings of damujadiid in the last minute.

Yemen weerar laguma aha ee itoobiya ayaa loo wajahanyahay!

The nile war has taken another stage, training armed rebels in the base and air attack from somaliland to ethiopias nile dam.

We can say that we are witnessing the downfall of idoorland.

It is on behalf of the U.S. Russia asked for the base and the Americans told the emerites to go there. It won't be used for any attack. Doesn't make sense to come to somaliland and attack houthis when you're already in assab or Saudi it self. This is geopolitics and somaliland has its bargaining chip. Berbera is a miltary installation airport military it even had large underground missile silos but I think egal aun gave them up.

I think some Daroods especially Ogaden and Marehan live under rocks. I noticed they are the least informed on many issues.

They say Ogaden have the lowest IQ amongst Somalis and well Marehan only have one secondary school in the entire Gedo. Probably the least educated region anywhere in the vast Somali Peninsula.

UAE has been gaining political, diplomatic and military influence and more regional play ever since the collapse of many powerful Arabs such as Saddam, Gaddafi and Husni.

The West has been keen on working with the UAE in levels never seen before.

The Darood and their theories are laughable. One minute UAE is under KSA sphere of influence and another minute they come up with conflicting theories about Egypt.

Do they even have idea how bad things are between KSA and Egypt?

How can UAE be both? It's like saying UAE is under Israel but it acquired a base in say Jordan on behave of the Palestinians.

Do Darood kids ever think?

UAE has a growing military force and is rather going on shopping spree for arms.

The U.A.E. would be able to buy $4 billion in weapons, including 5,000 of the GBU-39/B bombs, 1,200 Joint Standoff weapons and 300 of the SLAM-ER missiles, the Pentagon said in a separate statement.
In 2015 it spent $5b and has done so every year since.

Egypt is isolated by the Gulfs once again. They are joined by Sudan, Ethiopia, Somaliland.
