President Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday officially received his Somalia counterpart Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo on the latter's first state visit to Kenya, according him full honours including a 21-gun salute.

The visiting Head of State inspected his first guard of honour at State House in Nairobi, mounted by a detachment of the Kenya Army while the national anthems of Kenya and Somalia were played by the military band.

The two leaders will be holding bilateral talks aimed at bolstering co-operation between Kenya and Somalia.

President Kenyatta is expected to impress on the need to reinvigorate efforts to scale up collaboration in mutual areas of interest identified during the inaugural session of the Joint Commission for Co-operation that was held in Nairobi in July 2015.

These areas include security, trade and investment, civil aviation, education, agriculture, resource-sharing and development, livestock development, fisheries, tourism, immigration, labour and health.

Last month, President Kenyatta attended the inauguration of President Farmaajo in Mogadishu and pledged Kenya’s continued support to the Horn of Africa country.

The Kenyan leader assured the new president that his country would remain steadfast in supporting efforts that would bring peace and stability in Somalia.

Is it me or is Kenya poor imitation of U. S. even Uhuru tries to resemble Obama. Their state house resembles the White House in design, the columns, the drapes, the lay out of the chairs they sitting on and desk behind them as well head busts of former Presidents.

Even their army thought that they were British SAS until they were given a rude awakening.

It was built by the British and designed by them. It was the official residence of the Governor.

The White House is designed by an Irish architect.

As for the topic Uhuru is rather charming and at tge same time mocking a very weak man. He is going to get him to sign their claim of the oil blocks and NFD 2.0

Just look at the gesture and how Uhuru puts his hands around Farmajo. Usually this is how a man creases his wife...

Kenya is a country where the 3rd in command, the speaker of parliament, is a fellow Somali. A neighbor who has hosted millions of Somali refugees, where a section of the country is populated by Somalis. And a country where Somalis are doing well. Kenya
