AwRaastale may be a dickhead but what he is saying sounds pretty logical to me, al-Shabaab are the cashcow to many external players in Somalia so why would anyone want to exterminate their cashcow? They will probably just change it with a new face just like the us did with al qada and isis
Puntland, Somaliland, Jubbaland, Galmudug and any other clan-orchestrated "state" is a cashcow for few specific families/politicians. The reason Somalia is in the situation it is in right now is because 80-90% of the Somali people are illiterate. The 10-20% literate Somalis are selfish and corrupt. So, when you have 3 to 4 million people (in the case of Puntland), who are mostly illiterate and the people they look up to consist of bunch of illiterate and corrupt literate people, then you have the status quo. No progress. Starvation. Diseases. Hatred.
The same can be said of the Isaaq enclave called Somaliland. The Jubbaland enclave, the Galmudug enclave.
