Nothing New

The Ethiopian PM talks about having close relations "with all somali leadership" no separation within the somali leadership. he means per region we will have direct connections with them bc the SFG had no control on them so how can we deal on them as they always say we deal with them for own security bla bla

but when it comes to diplomacy and sovereignty the SFG is the sole responsible to deal with it.....ethiopia or non other countries kkk sounds like he was sending a message to some country that we have control on this govt you cant bypass us!

It is clear Ethiopia has an issue with the formation of Somali army pursued by this government. Looks like they're concerned that the fight against Al-Shabaab will be used as a cover to develop the Somali army to the point where it can reach a point that Ethiopian can't do as it is used to in Somalia. In the last statement of Ethiopian PM, he has stated "there should be an established period where Al-Shabaab is defeated and the Somali security is discussed and agreed upon its formation." It seems he will be using the IGAD route to limit the number and strength of the Somali security forces. By referencing IGAD, Ethiopia wants all support of Somali security forces should be done through this route. By reading Farmaajo's face, he wasn't accepting it, but nevertheless, the Ethiopian PM was sending the signal to US and EU. To every Somali who watched that conference, it should be obvious how the fight against Al-Shabaab and the formation of Somali forces are interconnected. Ethiopia wants to bargain that in order Al-Shabaab to be defeated, they want an agreement to the number and strength of Somali security forces.

Until now all I see is protocols something culusow didn't know, other then that I see nothing more, he still has not delivered on any of his commitments.

The only difference or shall I say advantage he has predecessor is that he doesn't piss everyone off, wage unpopular wars inside the country which in Somalia case makes him a good leader, but for you to say he's the man you're just doing it to score clan points when it comes to development he's done fuk all and security is just deteriorating, this is the reality on the table.

That said I wish him and his government all the best
