The truck was running very fast and the soldiers at the checkpoint fired heavily at the truck. But They did not have a car or any means of communication devices to request for backups / reinforcement and cut the road in front of the truck. ( they lacked barriers to vehicles and communication devices)
According to reliable sources, the intelligence had received information about a large operation that would target the Turkish military academy. The truck was already being pursued. When the driver was unable to reach the barrier........he exploded the area and 250 were killed and hundreds more wounded.
The poor performance of the army, the police and all other security services was very obvious. AUN to the victims.
