2017 was just the preliminary stage of the return of true somali nationalism, we saw a resurgence of mass united public interest in politics, we saw leaders that were proud to help somali people and would rather take photos with the people they helped than foreign delegates. I hope 2018 our clan leaders and clan influences on the internet and whatsapp group compete not on who can become the biggest foreign agent but who can protect and advance the country and reap the benefit of it. For the first time we see healthy competition and relationship between President and Prime minister.
Perhaps it is wishful thinking and its too early, but I seriously believe we are in a new age, the kids who lost hope and their future sold down the river in 1991 have grown up, they are in their late 20s, the kids who were born in the 80s who have been sold a lie for 20 odd years are waking up to reality, some of them are part of this government while most others support the government.
