Actually if oromo are looking for land of theirs to claim in somali region they should look towards South Somalia. The city of mogadishu was built by Arabs on or very close to a ancient Cushitic port City named Sarapion that was inhabited by a Cushitic people named the Azanians. These people were native to South Somalia , South Ethiopia , and North Kenya, but it is speculated that they originally came from ethiopia. Their city Sarapion died out around the 6th century because an influx of other Cushitic people mainly the somalis coming down from the North and pushing the Azanians back to ethiopia from where they came from, however some oromos settled in southern Somalia in the time between the Azanians fell and before the Arabs established Mogadishu. Of course they were pushed out also as Somali's established their dominance of Southern Somalia also. That's the oromo only legit claim to any somali inhabited land, but since they never set up a city of their own in what's now South Somalia their claim is still weak as they were just nomads passing through scavenging
