The decisive battle of Jijiga in 1978

Post by luis1 »

I would like to exchange opinions and information about this battle. Many people have heard about the battle, but few Somalis and Ethiopians know what really happened there. I hope a respectful conversation.

Who were involved in this battle?

Why did Siad Barre abandon Jijiga?

Could Somalia win this battle and turn the tide of the war?

This guy could help you; his father fought in that battle and his family left jijiga in 77 back to Somalia

Cubans never helped TPLF and OLF, but they helped EPLF until 1977. :dj:

Jijiga battle could be a great triumph for somalis, but they decided to choose a static strategy to fight Cubans and Ethiopians. This was a huge mistake.
